Busy week! My boys are away fishing so I'm Rusty's only playmate! I got him a new ball last night with handles. He bursts footballs so I thought this might be fun......... he loves it..... Rain has stopped play though, no bike ride this morning so ironing will have to be tackled before work.
On Friday Sue & I (AKA Thelma & Louise) went of for a jaunt in her lovely car to Corbridge. I have wanted to visit this shop RE for ages. It is fantastic, they sell all sorts & it was hard not to go mad! I was quite well behaved & bought just a few little things. The wire heart opens up so is crying out to be filled with something..... & the huge cup will be perfect for soup or noodles or even a giant Angela size cup of coffee.
We called at TKMAX on the way back & I got a very cute little suitcase which will house my Menorca holiday album this summer. I had a lovley day, thanks Sue :)
Thursday night was the 1st part of our Journal workshop course at The Scrapbook Shop & everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. It's great seeing how different everyones covers & pages are I can't wait to see how they develop. This is my cover & a page
As usual too busy to blog & I find the longer I leave it the harder it is to do! Easter hols came & went in a busy blur, I found myself chief cook & bottle washer at the Fishery, feeding hungry teenage boys. It was Sue & Lorraines Birthdays so cardmaking was inevitable. The birdhouse one was for Sue & the 2 birds for Lorraine.....
I got myself a new tool tote, I sold my tall AMM one as I couldn't fit everything into it & could never find anything in it either. We just got these ones in at The Scrapbook Shop of course I got the pink/black one it's perfect & not too big to sit on my desk & take to crops etc. It is CJ time again & I have been doing the lovely Annette's journal, the idea is to create a sketch & then make up a Layout from your sketch & inspiration notes! Of course I did mine the other way round Layout 1st then sketch. The sketch page & all the other journal entries are in my gallery if you want to peek.
Anyway I have made loads of mess & I want to play with my new Tim Holtz Dies & new Distress Inks (my new favourite colour is the Victorian Velvet it's gorgeous) so I must go & tidy up!
I did a workshop on Wednesday with Sue, 10 Seconds Studio......... wow I love it. I spent way too much on tools etc. but I have played with nothing else since. I do love shiny new toys. I now look at my embossing folders & stamps in a totally new light. I find myself looking around the house for things to use!
We had a trip out to Harrogate Show on Sunday, nothing really interesting to buy but it was good to have a girly day out & catch up with people I havn't seen in a while.
These are the things I have made so far with my 10 seconds toys.........
The front & back covers for my notebook....
Tim Holtz stamp from the 'Rockstar Set' I knew I NEEDED this stamp for a reason! Love, love, love it so much!
Anyway must go as I bought the 'New Moon' DVD today.....it's calling me ;)
We are going for a cupcake, wedding, love, sweet look for the shop so I have been busy making a paper wedding cake. My first attempt making the cake in slices looked messy so I switched to covering tins instead! The swirls, hearts & flowers are all cut on the cricut & the heart borders are done using a Martha Stewart punch. I also made a Love wallhanging again using my cricut.
Off to a retreat at Gibside this weekend so I really must get on & finish the CJ I am on with & pack some stash to play with. Huge pile of ironing to get through & I must shop for new PJ's too I am desperate!
For my workshop last week I cheated & used BoBunny ' Share The Love' Class Kits, there are a couple left if you still havn't made anything for your loved one HERE They worked out really well & there were loads of papers & stickers left over for making other stuff, enough for another mini book & a couple of cards.
I must go shopping & get a little something for my 'Valentine' today, well I have to make the effort as it's my birthday & he always does :)
Itreated myself & bought the 'Serenade' cricut cartridge, it's gorgeous with birdies, bird cages & some lovely trees & swirls can't wait to play with it :)
Some of the girls in my workshop wanted to do a CJ so Lynda very kindly agreed to organize, thanks girlie. I have just finished Helen's, which I found the hardest so far as I refuse to do 'Regret'! here is my page...
The theme for Donna's journal however was 'Wings' a topic much closer to my heart, I really enjoyed doing this one & could have happily filled her gorgeous, felt covered little book! Here is my page....
I am loving bells at the moment! no idea why..... I was given a couple of boxes of them at Christmas :) I have added a few to the edge of the pages so they jingle happily when you open it.
I am in the process of storing my clear stamps in CD cases & it is taking longer than I thought it would! I have a couple of projects ongoing for the Scrapbook Shop & it's my late night crop this Friday 6-12 midnight. I'm off on a course with my lovely friend Sue on Saturday so I will post a picture of what we make later in the week. All for now, I must get on & to top it all I have a sick boy at home today, poorly Fergus :(
I am sick of the snow! I hate being stuck in the house & I hate driving in it! I think my car hates it almost as much as me. I do love Luigi but I am almost considering swapping him for a Freelander or similar! The kids are sick of it too, Laura is definately a grown up as she hasn't been out to play in it at all. Fergus helped dig us out of the cul-de-sac & then swiftly retreated back to the house/playstation. No new snowy photos of the kids then, Rusty on the other hand still loves every flake of it & still thinks it is only there for his pleasure.
I had some Bo Bunny Snowy Serenade paper to play with so I had to dig out some old photos of Laura from 2006.....
Warmest Merry Christmas wishes to you all, looks like it will be a white Christmas this year it looks all lovely & snowy outside. I hate the stuff if I have to go anywhere but we are well & truly snuggled in for the duration. Rusty thinks that the snow has fallen just for him & sits looking longingly out of the window until someone takes him out to play in it.
I have a million thing to do so must get on..... have a lovely Christmas & I will try & blog a little more often soon I promise ;)
